Believing
Anglican schools are places where everyone in the school community is invited to experience God’s love. Anglican schools invite all students, staff and parents to share in the story of Jesus and to share their life with others.
Thinking
Anglican schools are places where we like to think. Thinking includes asking lots of questions about our world, ourselves, other people and God, as well as listening to the questions and ideas of others.
Worshipping Together
Anglican schools come together in Chapel to meet with God and each other. In Chapel we pray, read the Bible, listen, sing songs together.
Welcoming All
Anglican schools seek to tell the story of Jesus while also ensuring the stories of others are welcomed, heard, explored and respected.
Loving and Helping Others
Anglican schools provide a place where everyone in the school community can learn from the example of Jesus. Following the example of Jesus, everyone in the school community is encouraged to think of and help others
Jay grew up on a small farm at Brogo before moving to Tathra when he was in Year 11. His family were members of Bega Uniting Church (and now Grace Church). He moved away to study Human Movement and Education at the University of Technology, Sydney and for the last 18 years has taught at Covenant Christian school where he was PDHPE coordinator and then Director of Teaching and Learning. He’s passionate about creating learning environments that shape the character of students and actively engage them in the learning.
Jay is married to Lucy and together they have three children - Henry (11), Clementine (9) and Hugo (5). They are looking forward to exploring campsites along the Far South Coast and spending more time fishing (some more than others). The children love playing soccer, bike riding and Henry is looking forward to playing for his Dad’s old Cricket club (Bega-Angledale) and is trying to convince his Dad to come out of retirement! Jay and his family love being part of the Bega Valley community.
Hi, my name is Kristy. I relocated to the stunning Sapphire Coast four years ago. With a professional background in Occupational Therapy, I transitioned to my current role at SCAC as a Wellbeing Officer and Counsellor after working as an Occupational Therapist and mental health clinician at South East Regional Hospital. My passion lies in fostering strong connections with students and supporting their holistic health and wellbeing journey.
I grew up in Orbost, Victoria. Moved to Wollongong for university in 2013 and then to the Sapphire Coast in 2015. Worked in foster care, family support and youth work before coming to SCAC as the Wellbeing Officer and Counsellor. Married a SCAC alumni, have a toddler and a Beagle. Love gardening and puppies.
I have taught a variety of subjects and I’m also a qualified tennis coach. I have previously worked in real estate and been a manager for Woolworths before completing a degree in Education (K-12). I taught mathematics at SCAC last year and I look forward to working with students and the wider community.
I teach Visual Arts from year 7 to 12 and am thrilled to be year 9 and 10 Wellbeing Coordinator. I have been teaching in the area since 2016, with a strong focus on student welfare. I am a member of the local pottery community and am an avid snowboarder! I believe that school is about academics, but also a place to improve social skills, work as a team and develop skills for managing one's well being.
We relocated to the far south coast two years ago, at the beginning of my maternity leave. We escaped the city to raise our son in the country and we couldn’t be happier.
I’m thrilled to be working here at SCAC, teaching both English and Drama this year.
